16 ounces ground turkey or 16 ounces lean ground beef
1 cup yellow onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced (more if you like)
1 eggs, beaten or 1 egg substitute
1⁄2 cup milk
1 cup cooked rice

SAUCE
1 (14 ounce) can stewed tomatoes
8 ounces tomato sauce
10 ounces condensed tomato soup
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1⁄4 teaspoon cayenne (more if you like) (optional)
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1⁄2 teaspoon nutmeg, fresh ground is best
1 bay leaf
salt and pepper, to taste

DIRECTIONS
Saute onion and garlic in a large skillet for about a minute. Add meat and cook, stirring often, until meat is no longer pink. Drain well and let cool to room temperature. When meat has cooled add egg, milk and rice.
Meanwhile, remove tough outer leaves from cabbage & remove core. Shred cabbage if not using a bag of shredded cabbage. Saute the cabbage in the same skillet used before.
In a large bowl mix all the sauce ingredients together. Place some of this mixture in the bottom of a sprayed 10x13 casserole dish so you have a nice layer of sauce. Try not to use more than half though.
Layer half the cabbage on top of the sauce. Layer all the meat on top of the cabbage. Top with remaining cabbage and then finish by pouring all the remaining sauce on top.
Bake at 350 degrees F for 30 minutes or until everything is hot and bubbly.
Garnish with a dollop of sour cream if desired. Remember- whoever finds the bay leaf is the lucky one! Just do not eat it!

In a separate bowl, add the cream of soups and water and mix it up. Pour the soup mixture over the meat..
Sprinkle the onion soup mix on top, put the lid on the crock-pot and turn it on low.
Soon your kitchen will start to smell delicious and 6-7 hours later you will have a dinner! Add a side of mashed potatoes to help enjoy the gravy an a salad or green veggie and you are ready to eat.

Note: If you like cream of mushroom soup, I'm sure you can use that as well. As for me, I'm not a fan, so I opted for a different combination.

Texas Roadhouse’s Rolls

1 cup warm milk
1 package or 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
1/3 cup sugar
3 1/2 cups all-purpose four, plus more for the board
1 egg
1/3 cup butter, melted plus 1/4 cup butter, melted (optional)
1 teaspoon salt
Honey Cinnamon Butter
1/2 cup softened butter
1 teaspoon cinnamon
2 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons powdered sugar

How to make it :
In a cup or small bowl, stir together the warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Allow the yeast to proof and begin to activate while you prepare the other ingredients. (This is not necessary, but I prefer this to using milk cold out of the refrigerator). Using a stand mixer or food processor, combine the flour, egg, 1/3 cup melted butter, and salt. Add the milk mixture and process until you have a smooth dough; it will be stickier and wetter than regular bread dough. Place the dough in a greased bowl, turn the dough to grease all sides, and cover with a towel. Let rise until it has doubled in size. When the dough has doubled, punch it down and turn it out on a floured board. Let rest for 10 minutes. Roll out the dough into a large, flat rectangle approximately 1/2 inch thick. Cut into 16 portions with a sharp knife and place on a greased baking sheet and let rise again, until doubled. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Bake the rolls for 10 minutes on the greased baking sheet. They will be light brown when removed from the oven. If desired you can brush the tops of the rolls with the remaining 1/4 cup melted butter before serving .
Prepare honey cinnamon butter by combining butter, cinnamon, honey, and powdered sugar until well blended.

Fried Chicken Recipe

pieces of chicken, your choice breast, thighs, legs, etc.
1 C. milk
2 T. pickle juice
1 tsp. tabasco sauce
1 egg, beaten
2 C. flour
1/2 tsp. paprika
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/4 tsp. onion powder

Combine milk, egg, tabasco and pickle juice. Throw the chicken in with it and marinate for 1 hour in the fridge. Combine all remaining ingredients in another bowl for dredging. Now I used a deep fryer, but you can use an iron skillet and heat oil to 350 degrees. Dredge the chicken in the flour, back to the mixture it was marinating in and then back into the flour. Place on a cookie sheet and continue with the remaining pieces. Let sit for 5 minutes before frying. Place 2-3 pieces at the time in the fryer and cook for 7-8 minutes boneless or 10-12 bone in turning as you go. Just make sure the internal temp. is 160 degrees'. You can heat the oven to 250 degrees and place the chicken on a cooling rack over a cookie sheet to stay warm and crisp while finishing up the rest.

Chicken Fried Steak

4 (1/2 pound) beef cube steaks
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon black pepper
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups buttermilk

1 egg
1 tablespoon hot pepper sauce (e.g. Tabasco(TM))
2 cloves garlic, minced
3 cups vegetable shortening for deep frying
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
4 cups milk
kosher salt and ground black pepper to taste

How to make it :
Pound the steaks to about 1/4-inch thickness. Place 2 cups of flour in a shallow bowl. Stir together the baking powder, baking soda, pepper, and salt in a separate shallow bowl; stir in the buttermilk, egg, Tabasco Sauce, and garlic. Dredge each steak first in the flour, then in the batter, and again in the flour. Pat the flour onto the surface of each steak so they are completely coated with dry flour.
Heat the shortening in a deep cast-iron skillet to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Fry the steaks until evenly golden brown, 3 to 5 minutes per s
ide. Place fried steaks on a plate with paper towels to drain. Drain the fat from the skillet, reserving 1/4 cup of the liquid and as much of the solid remnants as possible.
Return the skillet to medium-low heat with the reserved oil. Whisk the remaining flour into the oil. Scrape the bottom of the pan with a spatula to release solids into the gravy. Stir in the milk, raise the heat to medium, and bring the gravy to a simmer, cook until thick, 6 to 7 minutes. Season with kosher salt and pepper. Spoon the gravy over the steaks to serve.
